Industrial Users / Local Limits
Upper Blackstone has established local limits to protect water and air quality and to ensure state and federal standards are met. Some limits are also set to protect the advanced biological treatment system from compounds which could inhibit the process.
Industries discharging to the treatment facility are permitted by Upper Blackstone and required to pay annual fees and submit regular sampling data per the terms of their permit. Inspection and sampling on industry is conducted on a regular basis.
